 Poem 1:  “ Dreams”

Stanza 1:
Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.

Paraphrase:
Stick firmly to your dreams in life because if dreams die, life becomes a broken-winged weak bird that cannot fly in the air. Her life becomes hopeless and boring.

Stanza 2:
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.

Paraphrase:
Stick fast to your dreams because when dreams go away, life becomes a barren or unproductive field, frozen with snow which is not able to produce any kind of vegetables or any other crops
