About Us

Establishment of Intermediate and Secondary Education Board Bannu w.e.f. 01-7-1990 BISE, as a result of the partition of Peshawar and in accordance with the NWFP Ordinance / Act 1990 have been in operation since then. At the public level, the Board is responsible for the control, organization and management of more than 700 educational institutions. Also the private sector.

The Board's jurisdiction consisted of the following four districts and two agencies.

  1. Bannu District
  2. Lakki Marwat District.
  3. District DI Khan
  4. District Tank.
  5. North Waziristan Agency.
  6. South Waziristan Agency.
  7. After the division of BISE, Bannu was confined to BISE, Bannu and BISE, Dera Ismail Khan to BISE, Bannu to the following two districts and one agency.
  8. Bannu District
  9. Lakki Marwat District.
  10. North Waziristan Agency.

The board was initially set up in a government hostel. Comprehensive Higher Secondary School, Bannu. However, due to the establishment of the NWFF. The Board Office of the University of Engineering and Technology Bannu Campus was shifted to a rented building in Chambali Chowk, Bannu in May 2002. Currently, the board is working in its building in Bannu Township. The board is working with the staff. The second phase of the project will provide residential accommodation and hostels in the later phase.

Board Objectives


The importance of education goals and objectives has been recognized by all educational, professional, political, non-political and religious associations, organizations and groups in their memoirs, letters and brochures at various levels. Nations are rising and falling with their state of consciousness. And the use of yardsticks to measure the state of consciousness of a nation is its level of education. Education without clear objectives is like a useless ship and similarly, secondary boards play an important role in providing enlightened education and examination services to the entire nation. The future of a nation depends largely on its education system.

The objectives/duties of the Board are as follows:


  1. Conduct SSC, HSSC, and Pakistani language examinations.
  2. Register / Affiliate Private and Government. Institutions
  3. Set, request, and receive fees as advised.
  4. Write an instruction curriculum for SSC and HSSC.
  5. Appoint inspectors and supervisory staff to conduct examinations.
  6. Ensure the provision of required facilities in the affiliated institutions.
  7. Inspection of private institutions and the establishment and upgrading of existing private institutions as per the ordinance.
  8. Institute and Award Scholarships / Medals to Skilled Students.
  9. Ensure sports promotion, declaration competitions by organizing sports tournaments etc.
