Noor Fateh Nazar was born to Ustad Fateh Ali Khan on October 13, 1948, after having four daughters. His name was changed to Pervez which changed to 'PG'. As a child, an elder changed his name to Nusrat, who became Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan with his father's name and became famous in many countries.

It is about the boyhood of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan that the famous singer Pandit Dina Nath came from Calcutta to Faisalabad and stayed at his house. He complained to Ustad Fateh Ali Khan that the song he sang here was so dusty that he could not find any suitable person to accompany him on the tabla. Imran Khan was very impressed. He then asked Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan to help him in raising funds for Shaukat Khanum. Yousuf Salahuddin said, “Once British Princess Lady Diana came to Pakistan, then Imran Khan was married to Jaima and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan had become famous internationally, so Lady Diana wanted to listen to him. In this regard, Imran Khan organized a function at his house where Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan came and performed. Besides, British singer McJeger also wanted to listen to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. A party was also arranged for him at Imran Khan's house. The party started at 9 pm and continued till 5 am. Then there was another beautiful sitting. Maybe it was my wedding anniversary. Yousuf Salahuddin said, “The family of the mother of the current Prime Minister Imran Khan had a close relationship with the family of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Both the families migrated from Afghanistan and settled in Jalandhar, India. Even during the Partition of India, both the families migrated to Pakistan after which Imran Khan's mother settled in Lahore Zaman Park while Nusrat Fateh Ali's family moved to Faisalabad.  

Yusuf Salahuddin says, "When Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan made the music for the first Indian film, which was Aishwarya Rai's first film, 'and fell in love', all the music was made by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan sitting here in my mansion." Indian poet Javed Akhtar came here, he wrote songs and all the producers and directors of this film came and sitting here in the mansion, he completed the work in three to four days.
