Major Shabbir Sharif martyred

On December 3, 1971, West Pakistan was also invaded by India. In fact, a major attack was expected on the Jhangar outpost. Major Shabbir Sharif presented the plan to his commander and asked him for permission to attack. After some hesitation, the brigade commander gave permission.

On the evening of December 3, it was freezing cold. Major Shabbir Sharif was leading his company. He first attacked the bunkers made of concrete. The enemy tried to counter with the force of their weapons but Major Shabir Sharif's company quickly overpowered the enemy. Shortly afterwards, the retreating Jhangar border post of the Indian Army also came under Pakistan's control. Major Shabbir did not want to give the enemy a chance to take over.

Where there was danger, they were at the forefront. The area was littered with enemy landmines. Death awaited step by step, but in the vocabulary of Major Shabbir and his comrades, fear and dread. There was no word. ۔

He rescued himself and his comrades from the mines. The enemy was also firing with automatic weapons. As Major Shabir Sharif's company was getting closer to the enemy, the shelling was increasing. They had now reached the enemy village of Beriwala. Here Major Shabbir Sharif faced considerable resistance as Indian troops were present in the village with their weapons but the enemy could not stay in front of Major Shabbir and his company for long and the village of Bariwala was also captured by Pakistani fighters.

After retreating, the Indian troops moved towards another village, Gormkhera. When Major Shabbir informed his commander over the wireless, he ordered more caution. It was necessary to cross the canal for further advance, blood clotting in the cold winter nights Cold water and Indian artillery shelling on it were creating more difficulties. Moving on from here had become a challenge. This group of Mujahideen led by Major Shabbir Sharif reached the bank of Sabona canal. The enemy shells were raining with full force. The atmosphere was resounding with frequent explosions. In the extreme cold, the Pakistani mujahideen not only plunged into the cold water of the canal but also reached the other side safely with their weapons.

The cold water of the canal was getting stuck in the human bones like a sword. In these circumstances, it seemed impossible to reach the other side, but when the support is with God, even the impossible target becomes easier. The enemy tried hard to prevent these young men from reaching the other side of the canal but by overcoming all the obstacles our Mujahids managed to reach the other side but this side was not the final destination but now they reached the iron fronts of the enemy. to arrive Was Along with the steel walls, there was a squadron of tanks.

When Major Shabbir ordered his comrades to advance, all the comrades fell on the enemy. As soon as the slogan of Takbir resounded in the air, hand-to-hand fighting started. The soldiers under the leadership of this great commander showed the essence that despite all the security measures, the enemy had to retreat from these iron fronts. 43 Indian soldiers stationed there were killed and 28 were taken prisoner alive.

The most important bridge over the canal also came under Pakistan's control. It was the only means of communication to the village of Gore Makhira. This victory was a blow to the military status of the enemy. The security arrangements of the enemy which were considered invincible by all, Major Shabbir along with some of his comrades destroyed these arrangements. Many Pakistani soldiers were martyred by these landmines.

Despite the fact that the arms were about to run out, Major Shabbir Sharif remained in his place The remaining Mujahids were fighting relentlessly under the leadership of Many tanks and artillery were silenced, but over time it became increasingly difficult to stop the locust enemy. The whole day was spent trying hard against the enemy. In the darkness of the night, the enemy company managed to reach the front of Commander Major Shabbir.

Demonstrating cunning, Major Shabbir stabbed him to death. Very valuable documents were also found which contained many military secrets. This was a great achievement of Major Shabbir. The next day, on the afternoon of December 6, the Indian army launched another attack with tanks and air force. Tanks and artillery were shelling indiscriminately, but even this shelling did not dampen the spirits of our troops. Major Shabbir was looking so happy at that time that no one could tell that he was a person who had been awake for many nights. On one occasion, when his artillery was martyred, he He also had to take care of this work himself.

He was very active in shelling the enemy. This was the last battle of his life. A shell from the Indian tanks brought a message of martyrdom for him and Major Shabbir Sharif was badly wounded in the chest, which made him fall to the ground exhausted. The word of martyrdom was uttered on his tongue without any pretense. As soon as the young man approached him, he had drunk the cup of martyrdom. It was December 6, 1971.
