Defence Day 2020 in Pakistan
Is Defence day a holiday in Pakistan?
Defense Day is no ordinary holiday. It falls on Sunday, September 6, 2020, and most businesses in Pakistan operate on Sundays regularly.
Why do we celebrate Defence day in English?
Defense Day is celebrated as National Day, commemorating Pakistan's successful defence against India, which marked the end of the September 6, 1965 ceasefire. Richmond Campus students enthusiastically participated in the Defense Day activities and expressed their love for the Pakistan Armed Forces.
Who is won 1965 war?
September 6, 1965, is a day in military history that will never be forgotten. Attacked This small but zealous and united country resisted its enemy's war attack with such vigour and determination that all the intentions of the enemy were shattered. He was also embarrassed internationally. The big aggressor country is India and the zealous and united small country is Pakistan.
The war between India and Pakistan in 1965 proved that wars can only be fought and won by the people of the state and the army united. The Pakistani nation together with the love of their country and the professionalism of the Armed Forces and the courageous spirit of Jansari made the impossible possible and the people said:
The imposition of war on Pakistan by India in 1965 was a great challenge to the bi-national ideology, national unity and patriotism of the Pakistani nation. It was accepted by the Jari nation with perfection and an unparalleled passion and proved to be a living nation by giving the example of eternal sacrifices. During the war, every Pakistani had the same concern that he had to face the enemy and win. During the war, the eyes of the soldiers were not on the enemy's strength and militancy, nor did the Pakistani people have any purpose other than to defeat the enemy. ۔
All Pakistanis jumped on the battlefield. Teachers, students, poets, writers, artists, singers, doctors, civil defence volunteers, labourers, farmers and the media all had the same tune and voice: “O man Mujahid Jag! Now is the time to testify.
Is it a real and deep joy to justify all aspects of the September 1965 war that, despite the lack of resources, is so large and strong in every way? What was the element and spirit of Pakistan, which is smaller than India that turned the entire nation into a leaden impenetrable wall? For example, India unjustifiably revived the issue of "Run of Kachh" on the common border between India and Pakistan.
Despite this, Pakistan did not take any aggressive action on the borders with India. Only his armed forces were more alert than usual. That is why on the morning of September 6, when India invaded, the entire nation, the army men and the officers, all the government employees woke up and went about their duties. President Field Marshal Muhammad Ayub Khan's address to the nation full of faith and manly spirit resonated with the slogans of Malik Allah Akbar Pakistan Zinda Bad.
The phrase "Pakistani!" Arise, say La ilaha illaAllah, go ahead and tell the enemy which nation he has challenged. ”His speech filled the nation with lightning. The Pakistan Army not only stopped the aggression and advance of the enemy on every front with the spirit of patriotism and professionalism but also forced them to retreat.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army had told his comrades that he would have a wine party in the evening at the Lahore gymnasium. In response, our armed forces slapped Commander-in-Chief in the face, covering his face until he died.
The Lahore sector was taken over by grandsons like Major Aziz Bhatti, who died but did not accept the unholy step of the enemy on the homeland. Arise, say La ilaha illa Allah, go ahead and tell the enemy which nation he has challenged. ”His speech filled the nation with lightning.

Seeing the loss and destruction of India at this level, the journalists from abroad were also shocked and disturbed. They praised the Pakistani Armed Forces for their bravery and courage and said:
In addition to this, the enemy of Juster Sector Kasur, Khem Karan and Mona Bao Sectors also suffered a humiliating defeat in such a way that it was left with cooked food, military equipment, jeeps and uniforms of the soldiers.
Had to flee the field.

In addition, the Indian Navy was not allowed to come out of the ports.
Another proof of the success of the Pakistan Navy is that. How long did the Indian merchant ship Saraswati and others remain in Pakistani custody and security at the port of Karachi? PNS Ghazi's fears overwhelmed the Indian Navy so much that the Indian fleet did not dare to come out of the port. The Indian ship "Talwar" was sent to track down the Pakistani fleet but it too went elsewhere for fear of "Ghazi". S. On the other hand, Squadron Leader Sir Faraz Rafiqi and Martyrs like Squadron Leader Muniruddin and Allauddin Yen also proved that sacrificing their lives for the sanctity of the homeland is not a costly deal. Pakistan's Ghazi and Mujahid pilots damaged India's war airfields in such a way that they turned it into a "halwa".

At that time, the Indian forces and the Indian rulers had planned to capture Lahore and celebrate the victory at night at the Lahore Gymkhana Club, but in Lahore, the brave forces under Major Aziz Bhatti sacrificed their lives. He thwarted their attack. Similarly, India tried to occupy the Chonda front by attacking with its forces, but the brave soldiers of Pakistan tied a bomb to their chests and blew up dozens of their tanks and thwarted their attack with their great sacrifices.
At the same time, the brave Pakistan Air Force, led by Air Marshal Noor Khan, flew at Indian airports with unprecedented courage and destroyed their fighter jets before they attacked Pakistan. Defense Day: September 6, 1965, in the mirror of history
ISLAMABAD: Today, September 6, Pakistan Defense Day is being celebrated with full enthusiasm across the country. Today reminds us of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for this motherland 53 years ago, thwarting the cowardly attack of the enemy with courage and bravery.
It is the result of the sacrifices of the martyrs that we breathe in the open air today who sacrificed their lives to keep the lamp of freedom burning in 1965 and other wars.
On the night of September 6, 1965, the Indian Army crossed the international border into Pakistan without declaring war. The Indian generals planned that on the morning of September 6, Indian tanks would salute the then Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on the streets of Lahore and in the evening during a cocktail party at the Lahore Gymkhana would inform the outside world that Islam should be considered a fortress. The state of Vali has been taken over by the infidels, but India's intentions and plans were thwarted when its forces began to receive reports of defeat and retreat on various fronts.
Chonda: Cemetery of Indian tanks
The largest tank battle in the history of wars after World War II was fought at Chonda in Sialkot, an area where the power-hungry Indian army had entered Pakistan with 600 tanks. The Pakistani army's strong retaliation destroyed 45 enemy tanks and captured several tanks. Similarly, five field guns were seized and many soldiers were taken, prisoner. Seeing the turn of the war, the Indian soldiers lost consciousness and started fleeing from the tanks. The Pak army took advantage of the opportunity and captured several outposts in the enemy's territory. That is why Chonda is called the tank cemetery for Indian tanks.
Front of Lahore:
In Lahore, a company of 150 Pakistan Army soldiers held off 1,500 Indian troops for 12 hours, giving our previous army ample opportunity to strengthen its defences.
Major Aziz Bhatti was guarding another battlefield in Lahore. He was then posted as Company Commander in Barki area of Lahore Sector. Major Aziz stood like a leaden plywood wall in front of Indian tanks for five consecutive days and finally, on 12 September 1965 he ate the bullet of Indian tank on his chest and drank the cup of martyrdom.
During the September War, the Indian Army carried out 13 attacks in 17 days. Many of their forces were powerful in terms of numbers and military equipment, while the Pakistani army was much smaller than India in terms of numbers and readiness, but Pakistani soldiers risked their lives to prevent the enemy from entering Lahore for 17 consecutive days. He stopped them and reduced their evil intentions to dust.
The deeds of some of these brave grandchildren of the homeland is such timeless stories that will be remembered forever as a living examples of courage and bravery. To pay homage to the sacrifices of such courageous martyrs, he was awarded the country's highest military honour, the Nishan Haider.
What is Nishan Haider?
The Haider badge is Pakistan's highest military honour. This honour is named after the hero of bravery, Haider Karar Hazrat Ali. This mark is bestowed only on those soldiers who showed great bravery for the country and drank the cup of martyrdom. Among them, Major Tufail got Nishan Haider after being martyred at the youngest age of 44 years.
The rest of the martyrs who got Nishan Haider were less than 40 years old. The youngest recipient of Nishan Haider was Rashid Minhas who was martyred at the age of 20 years and 6 months.
An interesting fact about this highest military honour, which very few people know, is that the Haider insignia is made of metal from weapons snatched from enemy forces during the wars. So far, there have been nine badges in the Army and one Haider in the Pakistan Air Force, the names and deeds of which are briefly given below.
